Rumor – 5D Mark III and 7D Mark II to be Announced by Photokina 2012

There sure hasn’t been a shortage of rumors finding their way around the blogosphere this week and what better way to top things off than with the mention of two eagerly anticipated offerings from Canon.

Keith Cooper, founder of Northlight Images and man behind many of the newly found updates and speculative information concerning the 5D Mark III, received another tidbit today stating that the 5D2 and 7D replacements will make an appearance before Photokina 2012.

Just as expected and right on time. Olympus has just announced their all new, weather-sealed, macro power-zoom for Micro Four Thirds system cameras. The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm F/3.5-6.3 EZ covers an effective focal range of 24-100 mm and is the first interchangeable micro 4/3 lens to pack a multi-speed motorized zoom optimized for video use. Macro abilities enable this semi wide-angle zoom to focus as close as 8 to 20 inches with the option to toggle the L-Fn (Lens Function) button which “suspends the autofocusing operation temporarily to avoid unintended focusing on obstacles that appear suddenly between the camera and the subject.”
