While we knew minute details such as its focal length and the expected release time-frame, today’s news falls into that unexpectedly awesome category, as SAR has revealed another interesting tidbit about the 16-50mm F/3.5-5.6 OSS G zoom – it will be in the form of a pancake lens!

If by chance you weren’t 100% convinced by now that Google was serious about their plans to bring Project Glass, their highly-publicized and ambitious augmented-reality headset, to the mass at some point in the foreseeable future, the fact that the company has been so openly public with their testing should be an indication that the project is much more than meets the eye… No pun intended.
