The Empire Strikes Backstage: a titled coined by The Dailymail which couldn’t be more fitting for the absolutely incredible behind-the-scenes shots from Irvin Kershner and Lucas Film’s fourth episode of the epic space opera, Star Wars.
Each image shown below is a truly intimate look of how castmates such as Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher interacted with each other and the sets while the cameras weren’t rolling, showing a lighter-side of what was surely an exceptionally demanding production given the scope of the film.
