We all know that our fellow filmmakers and visual creatives sometimes struggle when in the process of putting their visions to practice and translating what’s in their minds to their chosen mediums. In a witty and creative fashion, meant to steer you down the path of realizing your big-screen aspirations, Canal+ has released a fun series of flowcharts concerning the processes of creating a short film, as well as animated, horror, and action films.
The flow charts, which in their entirety can be viewed below, are specifically meant to be amusing and playful. However, they are also realistic in the sense that they do demonstrate how there are numerous paths, and obstacles, that appear and intersect in a production, highlighting the underlying message that there is no clear-cut, concise way a filmmaker can make a film; it’s all about going with the flow, as the charts suggest.
