The Canon Entry-Level Full-Frame Talk Continues – Preliminary Specs Surface

While the entry-level full-frame talk has run a bit dry on the Nikon front, Canon has taken the rumor-mill baton and picked up where the D600 murmurings has left off with the latest word coming from our friends at Canon Rumors, revealing the first possible specifications for the yet-to-be-named addition to the EOS line.

According to CR, the testing of various prototype models are currently underway, with the feature sets listed below frequently being mentioned from trusted sources as a very close representation of what the final product may bare. Take a look:

  • 22mp (Same sensor as 5D3)
  • 19 AF Points
  • 4fps
  • ISO 100-51200
  • 3″ LCD
  • Smaller than the 5D Mark II
  • More Plastic than metal in the construction
  • Pop-Up Flash (On at least one prototype)
  • $1999 USD at launch
  • Launched with a new non-L full frame kit lens (Undisclosed what the lens is)
  • Compatible with full frame STM lenses

Expect much more in the coming weeks as we inch closer and closer to Photokina 2012…
