As we all know very well, the Canon T4i talk has never seemed to simmer during the course of the first half of 2012, with the folks at Canon Rumors providing the majority of the continuous updates that have emerged on nearly a monthly basis. However, today’s news might, in fact, be our final dose of speculatory tidbits, as the long-awaited T3i successor may be unveiled in less than one week.

According to CR, the nondisclosure-agreements concerning the release of information regarding the camera will lift on June 8th, 2012 – a date which falls on a Friday and the day of the week when Canon prefers to make their announcements be known.

Aside from the strong indication that the new EF-S 18-135mm IS and EF 40mm f/2.8 pancake lenses will be announced alongside the new Rebel, no further credible word has been released regarding its specifications, other than the following:

  • 18mp
  • 9 AF Points, all cross-type
  • Touchscreen LCD
  • Continuous AF in LiveView & Video Recording

Could we finally see the T4i in less than one weeks time? Stay tuned for more information as it emerges!
