Following up yesterday’s report of a presumable Canon T4i (650D) announcement coming next month, comes another batch of speculative specifications that we may see in the next Rebel. While we’ve already seen a slew of feature-sets tossed around from time to time, especially in the recent months, Canon Rumors is classifying the following as very close to being factual, originating from credible reports from trusted sources.
Here’s what the Canon EOS Rebel T4i may bring to the table come June:
- 18MP Sensor
- 9 AF Points, all cross-type
- Touchscreen LCD
- Continuous AF in LiveView & Video Recording
- June Announcement
Given the current landscape of sub-$1,000 DSLR offerings already on the market, assuming the T4i’s price will indeed fall within that price-point parameter, the next Rebel will have to bring more to the table than just the incremental improvements the T3i saw over the T2i. So far, if the above-listed specs hold true, Canon looks to remain competitive despite the continued pressure the likes of Nikon and Sony have recently administered.
