With the success and regard of the X100, X10, and the soon to be unveiled LX10, Fuji has revitalized the way we look at compact point and shoots and surely the interchangeable lens mirrorless market as well.
Aside from the blogs and such around the inter-webs touting the X100′s prowess as an amazing point and shoot, television advertising, especially in Japan, is a key way for camera companies to make a lasting impression on potential adopters of their product. While TV-spots in the Japanese market primary stick to the tried and true methods of cutesy, abstract, or incredibly artistic forms, Fuji decided to take the latter to a whole new level in a production one could categorize as X-rated (no pun intended).
There’s no doubt who Fuji’s target audience was with this particular piece of advertising: the true enthusiast, the hardened streettog, the experienced photographer – and in many aspects I feel they have succeeded in their efforts.
