Thanks to today’s leak, finding its way onto the pages of Digicame-info, we now know what Fuji has been brewing behind the scenes, anxiously awaiting for Photokina 2012 to announce what is shown above and below – a new, more affordable retro inspired MILC, the X-E1.
In what looks to be the official younger sibling to last year’s impressive X-Pro 1, the X-E1 is all but confirmed to be a slightly watered-down version of Fuji’s first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. While details are still scarce, it’s being said that the X-E1 won’t pack the highly-acclaimed hybrid viewfinder found in the X-100/X-Pro 1, but will have a pop-up flash and seemingly similar functionality to the X-Pro 1 if the exterior shell of the camera is any indication of what to expect.
Today’s leak also comes with a shot of the E-X1 with X-100-esque silver accents and the presumable kit lens, the Fuji XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R OIS. Expect more details in the coming weeks:
