NASA, by public demand, has released another “Blue Marble” image of Earth, this time showcasing Africa, Saudi Arabia and India in all it’s browser-breaking, 64MP, 11,500 x 11,500 pixel beauty through the use of their VIIR (Visible/Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite) instrument aboard the Suomi NPP satellite.

NASA’s Goddard oceanographer, Norman Kuring, took six images, each from different orbital passes made by the satellite, and created the one composite image you see above, giving us an added awe-inspiring view of home from 7,918 miles away.

One interesting note worth mentioning is the vertical cloud-like lines shown in the image are actually the reflections of sunlight bouncing off the face of the ocean visible from each orbit.

Blue Marble part II can be viewed in its original size HERE.
