EOSHD is reporting information Panasonic presumably displayed at a recent GH4 media event, curiously outing specifications surrounding Canon’s long-rumored 7D-Mark II in a camera comparison chart.
The alleged leaked specifications include a 20MP APS-C sized sensor, ISO sensitivity range of 100-12,800 (25,600 expanded), 3″ 1.04M-dot non-articulating rear LCD, 8fps continuous shooting, quiet shutter mode, and the same level of weather sealing found in the current 7D.
Moreover, Panasonic reportedly went as far as to list the “Canon 7D successor’s” weight at 910-grams – heavier than the current model. This may not seem like an Earth-shattering revelation, but it does make one think about how Panasonic is getting this information and where they are getting it from given the preciseness of the alleged camera’s particulars.
EOSHD has also been told the 7D2 is actually in the hands of a select few at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and the cameras are being field tested by professionals covering the games.
If these reports are to be believed, expect much more information on the 7D’s sucessor in the coming weeks.
