According to accounts from many photographers on the DPReview forums, Ricoh Imaging just fell victim of a fairly egregious Photoshop fail, releasing the email advert below for their new color-infused Pentax K-S1 cameras, clearly showing the camera in question pasted rather roughly in a woman’s hands.
Dumbfounded, and after some additional detective work, determined forum members located the source image for verification.
The image below, which Fotosearch captions as “a beautiful woman in nature taking a photograph with a point and shoot digital camera,” is a the alleged stock image used for the ad.
As PetaPixel accurately points out, the Pentax K-S1 is actually much larger than what the advertisement depicts. Rather than just a case of alleged sloppy photoshopping, could this istance be classified as false advertising if it is indeed true?
