Poll – Where Will the Canon EOS C300 Price Land?

Share

Inspired by a recent Planet5D poll, and due to the fact that the Canon EOS C300′s price seems to be as grey as a clouded winter morning, I thought I would turn the question to The Digital Visual readers and see where the general consensus lies.

In case you need a recap, it all started back in November at the Hollywood unveiling where we first heard the now notorious words “estimated list price of $20,000.” Needless to say, the community backlash was strongly felt around every corner of the blogosphere. Fast forward three weeks later to the C300 Euro launch where SlashCam.de reported that that Canon’s digital cinema camera would debut in European countries for around 12,000 Euro, roughly $15,600 U.S. dollars. If that wasn’t enough to generate the loose talk of a possible price drop, then image below, posted by Joel Conder might have been the tipping point. It shows an EOS C300 listing from the Visual Impact Group, Europe’s leading broadcast equipment rental and sales company, for £9,995 British Pounds Sterling, keeping in line with the $15,600 U.S. dollars mark mentioned above:

So, nearly two months after its unveiling and shipments that will supposedly start migrating through the market by the end of January, where will the final Canon EOS C300 price point land? Share your thoughts in the poll below:
