According to Canon Rumors, the ever-illusive “high megapixel” DSLR from Canon will indeed be announced and released next year, bringing with it a sensor at or above 50 MP.
The report, which is backed by Canon Rumors’ highest rank of validity, points to the release of a new full-frame DSLR positioned above the current Canon 5D range of cameras. It’s detailed that this new model will be priced below $4,000 and have an aesthetic different from the larger, vertical grip-equipped EOS-1 style.
While Canon Rumors was able to confirm its existence, the specifications and release time-frame have yet to be learned. Expect much more information regarding Canon’s presumed big leap into the megapixel war in the coming months!
