Nikon Rumors is reporting that Nikon is expected to announce the successor and replacement to one-half of their mirrorless interchangeable lens camera offerings, planning to announce the ‘J2′ (J1 shown above) and a slew of new mirrorless accessories for the 1-series.
NR states that the announcement, set to take place around “mid-August,” is only in regard to the aforementioned J2, and that a successor to the current V1 model will not be shown. In terms of feature sets, no major specification and/or design changes are expected. However, this latest rumor points to many new 1-series accessories as becoming official, making their way from concepts, plenty of which were shown at last year’s PDN PhotoPlus show, to reality and eventual release – one of which is even an underwater housing.
Furthermore, a smaller/slimmer standard zoom lens may potentially be showcased as well, as NR believes it will be the lens shown on the left in the image below. Stay tuned…
