Report: Nikon to Unveil the 70-200mm F/4 With ‘Next Generation VR’ This Month

While we’ve known for several weeks that Nikon’s final camera unveiling of the year will be the mirrorless Nikon 1 V2 ILC, we are now hearing continued word from Nikon Rumors that some new glass may come along for the official announcement ride as well.

A new 70-200mm f/4 has been rumored for quite sometime, and its expected arrival has been brewing ever since we first caught wind of Nikon’s patent application released publicly around this time last year. According to the folks at NR, the long-awaited constant apertured zoom will show its face next week along side the V2 and pack Nikon’s next-generation VR system – the first Nikkor lens to contain the updated vibration reduction components.

In terms of price, we can expect this offering to be quite a bit more than current Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS counterpart, which retails for around $1,200.00.

Stay tuned…
