Report: Pentax Prepping The World’s Most Compact Full-Frame Camera Body

Share

Our friends at Photo Rumors are reporting some foreseeable Pentax release updates originating from the DCHome forums, keeping the rumor-mills running with another batch of interesting tidbits of the full-frame variety.

According to the latest outing, Pentax is developing “the world’s most compact full-frame body,” a camera which will pack the same 24MP full-frame sensor found in the Nikon D600 and the Sony Alpha A99. Rumored to be announced at Photokina 2012, but released sometime in 2013, this new Pentax will reportedly be available in both black and silver, be priced in the $2,800 (body-only) vicinity, and be unveiled with a new full-frame zoom, battery grip and flash unit.

Interestingly enough, the DCHome report claims that Pentax will begin using this full-frame sensor roughly six months after the Alpha A99 is announced, presumably giving us some insight on when to expect Sony’s eagerly anticipated camera.
