Its been nearly five years since the current Canon 7D was first introduced, and in many respects, still remains a very capable camera by today’s standards, but it’s successor’s eventual arrival has been marred by endless speculation – When will it come? What will it bring to the table? And will Canon continue to play things conservative in regards to specifications and feature-sets?
Well, if Canon Watch’s latest report is to be believed, we may know the answers to the aforementioned questions relatively soon, as the credible rumor site has received word from a trusted sources claiming pre-production models of the Canon 7D Mark II will be used to cover the 2014 FIFA World Cup, with a formal announcement coming in September at Photokina 2014.
Unfortunately, no additional word has been given on the presumed 7D Mark II’s specs, but it may be only a matter of months before this long-standing rumor comes to a close.
More to come…
