Over the past 48-hours, we’ve seen a lot of developments in the Pentax camp regarding the soon-to-be-announced K-30 DSLR. From a French catalog’s initial leak (shown above), to specification revelations, to even more image leaks, Pentax’s K-r replacement won’t leave much to the imagination on what to expect prior to its official announcement. Which leads into today’s K-30 tidbit, coming courtesy of Pentaxforums, revealing that the entry-level DSLR will be unveiled next week.

Month after month, the seemingly ever-present hints of a T4i and Mirrorless ILC announcement from Canon never seem to simmer, as the roller-coaster ride of between what “might be,” “could be,” or “may presumably be” unveiled shows no signs of slowing down. Whatever the case may be, the loose word from the rumors-mill has yet to materialize into anything as of yet, begging the question as to when Canon will indeed unveil the two aforementioned offerings.
After experiencing a rather long rumor-mill information dry-spell, the full-frame Sony Alpha A99 talk has sure come back with a vengeance, with more and more credible tidbits being released daily. Earlier in the week, we touched upon a Xitek forum members post regarding a speculative A99 specification set, highlighting a slew of the SLT’s apparent features, many of which have indeed been touched upon in the past.
Earlier this month, we covered the latest updates surrounding the long-awaited and soon-to-be-unveiled full-frame Alpha SLT model from Sony due to make apparent appearance before, or during, Photokina 2012. While presumed credible specifications have been a bit hard to come by, as of late, the Sony A99 talk has begun to pick up speed with more and more details coming out of the woodward from sources on what the camera may in fact be capable of.
In just a few days, Leica will make good on their highly-publicized plans and announce “a whole range of products” on May 10th. These “products” have been rumored to be any from the long-awaited M10, to something completely unexpected in the release of the Leica Monochrome M – a digital rangefinder only capable of capturing black-and-white images.
Sony Alpha Rumors is in the midst of collecting more and more information from credible sources which point to a presumably exciting month of August for the Sony camp. While Sony themselves have confirmed that a full-frame successor to the A900 is in the works, the topic of conversation has been a bit stagnant as of late, allowing Canon and Nikon to soak-up the full-frame talk handily. Is now the time in which Sony plans to unleash a true large-sensored contender?
During the time the 5D Mark III enjoyed its time in the limelight, experiencing image leak after specification outing, the Canon T4i was also receiving a lot of buzz from the rumor-mills, shaping up to quietly be announced alongside its bigger brother. However, as the multiple rumored announcement dates passed, it was clear we were going to have to wait a bit longer for a 600D successor, a wait that might finally be coming to a close fairly shortly.
Giving this latest report their highest rank in presumed validity, the constantly spot-on folks at Sony Alpha Rumors have all but confirmed information from top sources close to Sony, revealing that not one, but two cameras are set to be unveiled in the foreseeable future, as well as a new E and A-mount zoom lens to boot.
Just hours before it’s expected announcement, most likely coming around midnight Eastern Standard Time, both Nikon Japan and Nikon of Switzerland jumped the proverbial D3200 announcement gun, leaking our first true glimpse of the camera, and thanks to our latter friends, releasing a price list containing the D3200, the WU-1a Wireless Transmitter, and 28mm 1.8G – all three of which will be unveiled officially tonight.
