A Worldwide Price Increase on Sony E/A-Mount Lenses Coming April 1st?

Earlier this month we reported word of an expected price hike set to take hold in the U.S. market for both Sony E and A mount lenses on April 1st of this year. Although unconfirmed, it was initially perceived that this change would be limited to just U.S. retailers. However, SonyAlphaRumors has just added another revelation to the unfortunate PhotoRumors report by revealing additional information from a “trusted source,” stating that the hike will now be “worldwide.”

Not One. Not Two. But Three Full-Frame Cameras From Sony in 2012?

SonyAlphaRumors has been putting together the pieces to Sony’s 2012 camera puzzle and believes, from trusted sources, that three full-frame offerings are set to be unveiled in the coming year.

The first two SLTs will carry the rumored A9X title, possibly the A99, and according to SAR, will come in two varieties: a 24MP and 34MP version with the latter containing a built-in vertical grip. The third camera is neither pure NEX nor SLT but rather a possible “hybrid-mount” and something completely new from Sony, or anyone else for that matter.

Sony Confirms Their Next High-End Camera Will be Called the “A9X”

Earlier in the week, you may recall we posted a rumor that Sony may indeed be following in Nikon’s footsteps and could be prepping a 36 megapixel, full-frame camera of their own. It seems as though Paul Genge of Sony UK caught wind of the speculation and posted this insightful message on Facebook:

It never ceases to amaze me how the rumor mill accelerates from one model to the next, to the next and so on. Stock of the a77 has not reached most markets yet, but people are guessing “what next” I almost felt like posting only “lol”. However, in actual fact its probably better to state that the a77 is now in the range for a while, and the next high end introduction will be featuring the number ’9x’ naming… now watch what happens to the rumor mill!
