The latest sighting of Nikon’s legendary fisheye comes from London, where Amateur Photographer (AP) was informed by Gray Levett, co-founder of Grays of Westminster, that he spotted the immense piece of glass “around seven weeks ago” on an overseas trip.

Last week we touched upon the latest Zeiss rumor regarding a new super wide angle prime expected to be announced this coming Friday, March 16th in the Distagon T* 15mm F/2.8 ZE. Adding a dose of absolute validity to those early claims comes confirmation from Zeiss themselves, taking to Facebook and revealing the first small teaser images of the lens shown above and below.

Quick News – Photo Rumors has just reported news that Zeiss may be announcing a new, super wide angle prime lens for both Canon and Nikon mounts within the next 10 days.
If the reports hold true, the Distagon T* 15mm F/2.8 ZE will be Zeiss’ widest lens offered for DSLRs, dethroning the current Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 for the aforementioned honors. For comparisons sake, there is already a Leica M-mount Distagon T* 15mm f/2.8 out on the market (shown above), which carries the hefty price tag of $4,600… Ouch. Let’s just hope we don’t experience that same sticker-shock if and when this rumored lens hits the market.
