Although it has been perceived that our home galaxy, the Milky Way, would narrowly miss a collision with our celestial neighbors, the Andromeda galaxy (or M31), billions of years from now, NASA astronomers have just announced with absolute certainty that the two celestial bodies will indeed collide in approximately 4-billion years – bringing with it a possibly beautiful change to our night’s sky.
