Congratulations to Massoud Hossaini of Agence France-Presse and Craig F. Walker of the Denver Post, who have been awarded the coveted 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News and Feature Photography, respectively. Both of the winning photos depict the pressing tribulations and unfortunate circumstances of war, each in there own incredible telling way.
Hossaini’s image, shown below, captures a fearful young girl in the midst of a pile of lifeless bodies after a suicide bomber attacked a crowded shrine in Kabul, Afghanistan, while Walker’s work (above), on the other hand, portrays a tormented veteran who has struggled with severe post-traumatic stress disorder after serving four years as a Marine Corps reconnaissance man and two deployments to Iraq.
Each of the photos have earned their respected owners a cool $10,000 and the distinguished title of Pulitzer Prize Winner.

Massoud’s photo is both shocking and amazing. From my photographer’s side of my brain I am amazed at the composition, lighting, color but from the other side I am shocked at the pure hell of war, sickened actually. I cried.
