Quick News – Just days after Panasonic announced the LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm F/2.8 ASPH, the first half of the fast X-zoom duo, comes word that its expected bigger brother, the Panasonic X 35-100mm f/2.8 shown above, will be priced significantly more than its wider focal length counterpart.
According to DPReview forum member, Moonlight Knight, the 35-100mm f/2.8 X will carry a price tag approximately $200-$300 more than the $1,299.00 12-35mm F/2.8 ASPH, stating:
Based on an accidental leak by a staff of a certain company closely associated with Panasonic, the price of the upcoming Panasonic X 35-100mm f/2.8 should be more expensive than the X 12-35mm f/2.8 by no less than $200 (probably like $300).
While conventional wisdom would lead one to believe the yet to be announced lens would be more expensive, at this point is hard to say whether or not it will indeed be priced around the $1,600.00 as this latest report alludes to. Nevertheless, today’s news should get the Panasonic rumor-mills working on a definitive number before its foreseeable announcement. More to come…
