Watch This: Every Sequential Long-Take From ‘Children of Men’ in One 30-Minute Video

Admittedly, Alfonso Cuaron’s gritty sci-fi-drama, Children of Men, is one of my favorite motion pictures to date. The film is an incredibly emotional and suspenseful journey, amplified not only by its impeccable storytelling, but by its engaging visual style as well.

One of the ways in which Children of Men manages to so skillfully engage the viewer is by capturing a large number of scenes in one take, most of which last over 40-seconds in length, while some reach upwards of 90-seconds – a great accomplishment in its own right given the type of film this is.

In recognition of Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming project, Gravity, a film which opens with a 17+ minute long-take, Refocused Media decided to take a trip down memory lane and revisit the longer scenes within Children of Men, compiling each sequential shot containing at least 45-seconds of duration, into the 31-minute compilation video below.
