Without question, 2012 has already jumped out to a strong and fast start, with Nikon hitting the proverbial ground running, revealing two highly anticipated full frame DSLRs, including the well-received D800/800E, all while Canon is primed to unleash the long-awaited 5D successor in only a matter of days, setting the stage for battle lines to begin to form and comparisons, rightfully or wrongfully so, to emerge.
After witnessing the responses and reactions from many TDV readers in regards to the next Canon 5D and the Nikon D800, I thought it would be a good idea to see where the overall consensus in interest level truly lies. Of course, being that the D800 has been revealed, dissected, criticized, and admonished for the past three weeks, a different type of excitement and/or interest may lie in lieu of the fact that the 5D Mark III or 5D X hasn’t been officially revealed to the public yet. Nevertheless, Nikon and Canon fanboyism aside, the question is an interesting one.
